IET was founded in 1996. Complementing the DAVV School of Electronics and the International Institute for Professional Studies (IIPS), the college helped complement the technology and management related offerings from the University of Indore (DAVV).
The institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate awards B.E, M.E, and M.Sc.
The institute offers education in the following:

Admission to the college is granted on the basis of applicants rank in the merit list from the Pre Engineering Test (PET) conducted by the state of Madhya Pradesh Education Board. Some seats are alloted based on the AIEEE merit list, the exam is conducted by CBSE.
