Rajiv Gandhi Technical University was established by the government of Madhya Pradesh vide Act No. 13 of 1998.


Mascot Falcon, the mascot of RGPV, holds a degree in its beak, portraying the engineers graduating from RGPV. The falcon holds a pen in one of its claws, symbolizes the power of expression.
