Vira College of Engineering was established by Vira Charitable Society Dharamnagri, Bijnor, an educational Society which is devoted to the cause of spreading education in the area and established about a dozen Institutions from nursery level to post graduate level, both for boys and girls. Vira College of Engineering is a further step taken by the Society in the field of higher technology filled with the aim of preparing the youth of the State for the challenges of 21 st century.

The Institute was established in the year 1999. It is duly approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India and Government of Uttar Pradesh, and is affiliated to U P Technical University, Lucknow. The College is situated in an ideal environment, away from the hustle & bustle and pollution of the City. The beautiful natural surroundings are laced with greenery all around, with tall trees in abundance providing pollution-free healthy environment. The students play and study in the midst of nature, oblivious of the hectic life of the town.

The vast Campus of the College spreading over 10 acres of land near the city is complete with all infrastructures developed for imparting high level of Technical education upto Degree level and catering to the present needs of Multinational Industries.

Admission to all courses is taken in accordance with the directives of U.P.Technical University, Lucknow and the Government of U.P.

U.P.Technical University, Lucknow, conducts State Entrance Exams (SEE) every year in the month of April. Relative merit of the qualified candidates is decided on the rank in SEE UPTU. On the basis of merit and the choice of the candidates regarding branch of Engineering and the Institution, the list of students, admitted through counseling is received from SEE. Sometimes, if the seats remain vacant, direct admissions are also given vide Govt. of U.P. orders issued from time to time in this regard. In such cases applications are invited by the Institution directly.

The structure of fee on annual basis is in accordance with the norms prescribed by the Govt. of U.P. from time to time.
